Product Description

Isobutane, also known as 2-methylpropane, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H10. It is a colorless flammable gas under normal temperature and pressure. It can form explosive mixtures with air. It mainly exists in natural gas, refinery gas and cracked gas. It is obtained through physical separation. It is mainly used to produce isooctane through alkylation with isobutylene. It can be used as an improver of gasoline octane number and can also be used as Freeze.

Typical Application

①As a solvent: Isobutane can dissolve a variety of organic substances, such as paint, resin, rubber, plastic, etc., and is widely used in industries such as pigments, coatings, and glues.

②As a refrigerant: Isobutane has high cooling effect and latent heat, and is widely used in refrigeration equipment such as air conditioners and refrigerators. It is also an environmentally friendly refrigerant and is non-destructive to the atmosphere.

③Anti-corrosion effect: Isobutane can perform oxidation surface anti-corrosion treatment on steel and other metals under the condition of using copper oxide as a catalyst, which can effectively extend the service life of the metal.

④As a fuel: Isobutane itself has high calorific value and can be used as industrial fuel and filling fuel in gas stations.
