Description
Nitrogen dioxide, chemical formula NO2, is a brownish-red gas. At room temperature (0~21.5 °C), nitrogen dioxide and nitrogen tetroxide are mixed and coexist. Toxic and irritating. Dissolved in concentrated nitric acid to form fuming nitric acid. It can be stacked to synthesize nitrogen tetroxide. It reacts with water to produce nitric acid and nitric oxide. It reacts with alkali to form nitrate. It reacts violently with many organic compounds
