Air Liquide and Wanhua sign cooperation agreement

Recently, Air Liquide Group signed a strategic Cooperation and long-term gas supply agreement with Wanhua Chemical Group, a leading global supplier of innovative chemical products. This is the first time that Air Liquide and Wanhua have signed a long-term gas supply contract. Air Liquide will be able to start supplying industrial and medical gases in Yantai and strengthen its business layout in Shandong. 
According to the cooperation agreement, Air Liquide will invest nearly 60 million euros to acquire and operate an air separation unit in Yantai, Shandong Province. The air separation unit was built by Air Liquide's Engineering and Manufacturing business unit, and Air Liquide will install a new liquid argon production unit to provide products and services to the general industrial market in Yantai and Shandong Province.

In the context of this new cooperation, Air Liquide will provide Wanhua with large quantities of nitrogen and oxygen. The air separation unit will be operational by the end of 2024, and Air Liquide will also supply nitrogen, oxygen and argon to the local general industrial market, relying on the synergies it creates.
Through this collaboration, Air Liquide will begin supplying industrial and medical gases in Yantai, the second largest industrial city in Shandong Province, thereby further strengthening its presence in China's third largest economic province.
Currently, Air Liquide owns and operates four air separation units, a hydrogen plant, a cylinder gas filling center, and an advanced manufacturing center for the production of air separation units and hydrogen production units in Shandong.
