Air Products Appoints New Regional Vice President

Air Products has named Miquel Lope vice president and general manager of North Continental. In his new role, Lope will drive strategic initiatives and growth for the industrial gases giant in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. 

Ivo Bols, president of Air Products Europe and Africa, noted that Lope has a strong background in the industrial gases market and a track record of achieving ambitious targets. "His commitment to safety and operational excellence will help guide Air Products' continued success and expansion in the North Continent."

Lope has been with Air Products for more than 27 years, most recently serving as vice president and general manager of the Southern Europe region. Kurt Lefevere, former regional vice president of Northland, is appointed president of Air Products Asia.

Talking about his new role, Lope said: "I am excited and motivated to take on this new role and the responsibilities that come with it. New challenges, new priorities and a high-performing team that is already working hard towards a cleaner future are some of the factors that motivated me to accept this position."

Air Products has multiple projects and partnerships under development or in operation in the Northern Hemisphere. Earlier this year, for example, the company signed a 15-year agreement with Total Energy to supply 70,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year to Europe starting in 2030.
