Description

Propylene is a colorless, odorless, slightly sweet flammable gas that produces a bright flame when burned and has a low explosion limit (2% to 11.1%). It has low solubility in water but is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.

‌Polypropylene Production

Propylene is the raw material for the production of polypropylene. Polypropylene has good heat resistance and mechanical properties and is widely used in the manufacture of plastic products such as films, pipes,etc.
‌Acrylonitrile Production

Propylene can be used to synthesize acrylonitrile, which is an important chemical raw material for the manufacture of synthetic fibers, synthetic rubber and plastics.
